Lena Schmidt (* 1981) studied from 2004 to 2011 at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg with Prof. Matt Mullican and Mari Jose Burki. From 2016 to 2020 she completed a communication design degree at the Hamburg University of Applied Arts. She received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation from 2007-2010, and in the following years she took part twice in the Fountainhead Residency Program in Miami, USA. Lena Schmidt's works have been shown in numerous exhibitions in recent years, including solo exhibitions in the USA and Greece and various solo and group exhibitions in Germany. Her works are represented in the collection of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the Reinking Collection and the Mikesell Collection. She is a member of the renowned wood cutting association XYLON.
