“Kim” is a grid font that was designed by my nine year old niece Kim on a grid predefined by me. In this student project I was interested to see how Kim would tackle the task of dealing with this grid and what the result would be like.
In this student project I digitalised a font design by my mother Jutta. When my mother was young she loved to do pen drawings. She did a lot of wonderful illustrations and many font designs. I wanted the font to still have the initial charakter of a hand-drawn font but to work in the digital world as well. As the template I used was a Donovan songtext I decided to integrate this as well as the great illustrations I found in my mothers archive into my design of the presentation.
A student project about the basic principles of design.Starting with arrangement of space, contrast, line, rhythm and ending finally with colour bringing all aspects together. If you want to see the whole book you find an animated GIF at the bottom of the page.
In this student project I was inspired by “concrete poetry” using repetition as stylistic element both in typography and photography. The initial task was to create a poster dealing with the letter “R” which developed into this brochure afterwards.
In this student project I worked with collage techniques to picture the song “360 Volts” by The Zap: Listen to the song Inspired by the different universal structures I found in nature as well as in codes and computer systems I tried to find and show these similarities.
